Heroview is the end-user software that can be used to scan a database and visualize the history of changes for a particular record. With Heroview you can filter with visual conditions the records of the database logged, and retrieve all the changes made to a record. Heroview is tipically used by the db administrator or a super-user of the system beeing logged. Normally, you have two choices to retrieve the changes made to a record. Who changed this record ? First, you can find in the table of your database the record with current values, and after that you can view all the changes that leaded to the current situation (for that record). In this approach, you can answer to questions of type "Who changed this record ?" "Why there is a value in this field that is unexpected ?" Where is that record ? Second, you can have the situation where the current values are missing or unexpected, and you can't find the original record in a table. You don't know if the record has been accidentally deleted, or if some important field (like "Customer Name") has been modified in a way that now prevent you to find that record. So, you have to filter the table of the logged values, to find the original value that permits you to recognize the "disappeared" record, and after that to view all the changes to that record (and possibly the deletion). In this approach, you can answer to questions of type "Where is that record ?" "Who deleted that that record ?" Heroview can operate in both ways, to help you solve very fast your customers requests !
